Elementary Foreign Language

Charge:
1. To review the current status of elementary foreign language across WCSU schools.
2. To produce a WCSU elementary foreign language curriculum and assessment framework.
3. To recommend program development and changes to lead to more equitable experiences for WCSU elementary students.
4. To link the WCSU elementary foreign language programs with the middle and high school foreign language programs at U-32.

Professional Development Council

Charge:
To produce and implement – in collaboration with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Professional Development – a professional development plan that supports the goals and action plans of individual schools and the district. -Review school and WCSU Action Plans, WCSU committee work, and PLC goals and analyze WCSU student performance data to identify common needs, prioritize the needs identified through this process, and create professional development experiences to support these needs through Professional Development days and courses. To act as a liaison with schools, gather information regarding teacher professional development needs, and coordinate responses to teacher professional development needs.

2. To produce a local literacy assessment checklist K-12 that complements the local literacy assessment plan and the Vermont DRA, NECAP’s, and 10th grade NSRE’s.
3. To complete a literacy curriculum document (K-8).
4. To make recommendations to the administrative team and Professional Development Council on literacy professional development needs across the SU.
